Health and Vitality are a Choice.

We have all heard the expression, "It's cold and flu season. Be careful that you don't get sick!".
That very message gives our minds the negative image of bad germs floating around us and
puts us on the defensive. How does a germ know what season it is? How is it that when someone gets
sick those around them get sick. Does a person that doesn't know that person was sick also get sick?
There has been a lot of study done on the power of suggestion and the power of placebos.
Believing that something works or doesn't work usually ends up being exactly what is told to the
subject. Having a positive attitude goes a long way in preventing illness or healing an ailment, but
is only half the solution. The other half is having a strong immune system through diet, exercise, and
reducing stress.
These thoughts are only my personal beliefs based on my experiences and those of my students
and everyone needs to keep to their own counsel. That being said, there is no down side to
being open to a viewpoint that stresses wellness over illness, prevention over treatments, positive
thoughts of well-being and protection over all those nasty little germs that you would be led to
believe need testing, drugs, and cures.
Tai chi, Qigong, organ meditations, and/or yoga can be supplemental for your weight lifting,
kick-boxing, running and other workouts. Next time someone says they have a cold or flu, ask
them how they got it. Ask them what level of stress they are experiencing. If we ask enough questions
to enough people, it's amazing what conclusions we can come up with. There is so much more to learn.
Keep the Faith!
